About The Champagne Socialist

The Champagne Socialist is a 45 minute, 8 episode bi-lingual drama set in 1928 London and Berlin. It establishes this period of history firmly in the female gaze, and explores themes of self-discovery, class struggle, femininity and emancipation from the past. This is Champagne, with its frothy, decadent sparkle but it's also Socialist, so lessons will be learned and morals will be questioned. Ultimately, this is a story about unlikely friendships across a spectrum of backgrounds and beliefs and how 'unprecedented times' can either pull them apart or bring them together.

The short film/ scene gives a taste of the TV show (made by a bunch of passionate filmmakers without budget, because we loved the TV concept!) For access to the ShowBible and the Pilot script please contact Eleanor directly.
